Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Taylor is an American actress and producer best famous for the roles she was in Ray Undercover Brother, The Mentalist as well as the TV series The Mentalist. She received a B.A. with a major in African-American Studies, from Brown University. Her MFA is in acting from Tisch School of acting at New York University. Aunjanue was born in the United States and is an American actress, producer and director who is employed in film and television. Her acting journey began as a theater actress and then appeared in a number of television series and independent and mainstream movies. Her most well-known role was Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico as well as on BET's epic show The Book of Negroes for which she not only received critical acclaim but also numerous nominations and awards, including the Television Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Actress in a Movie. She made her professional acting debut with the character Ariel on the stage in The Tempest in 1995. The stage credits she has received include The Broadway show of Joe Turner's Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis. With regards to her career in movies, her best-known roles include Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express The Help. In the world of television, her character on ABC's drama about police High Incident is well known.
